This is a nice kit that contains a battery pack with embedded solar cell for charging. However, you can ALSO charge it from a USB device (desktop, laptop).

The booklight is bright enough to light up a small tent with an even distribution of light. It is on a bendable gooseneck so you can aim it wherever you want. The flashlight is very bright. The radio is handy to have if you need to hear a weather report and I like that I can give my phone a charge if it needs it too.

The best thing is that you have lots of options with only one battery pack. Each of the modules snaps on the top when you want to use that function and the rest can be stored in the bag.

Would make a good gift for someone who goes hiking or camping.
